Catalina Bucos is born in 1997 in the Republic of Moldova. She currently studies at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. Her artistic practice includes video art, performance and installations. Her body of work discourse topics in the context of the post-soviet Moldova such as public space, gender, body, state power, populism while mocking, subverting and creating artistic statements.
Catalina is a contributor and actor in Nicoleta Esinencu's theatre play named "The Abolition of Family", coproduced by Hebbel am Uffer Berlin. Recently she exhibited at the Yerevan Biennale and published her work, News Gifizer, in the Spam-Index magazine. During the last years, she has curated several exhibitions that involved working with artists from both Moldova and Transnistria, a self-proclaimed independent country on the territory of Moldova, such as Postreal or Telecommunications.
